1912 Project

YES!  I took on quite the challenge!  I'm going to make various patterns, one a month, over the next year from 1912.  The first is a "challenge" pattern (above and beyond my monthly pattern).  Challenge is the right word.  I leave in a few days to take a trip with my daughters.  My oldest daughter is on her post deployment leave from Afghanistan so this is a big deal.  The challenge...what can I get done in the next couple of days and how much time will I have to do it when I get back!  BUT...it is a slip and is just gorgeous!  Also I just found a "new" vintage technique with ribbon I want to try on it.  I will be posting my results soon.

Here is the link for the picture of the slip...http://vpll1912project.org/issue-12/

  1. Oh, cool! Glad I'm not the only one testing the slip pattern. =)

I've been working on mine in half-scale today. I will blog my details when I finish in the next day or so, but wanted to warn you to cut ONE inch off of the center front pattern piece (the part that goes on the fold) - the princess seams are way off for a 36" bust! 2 full inches need to be removed from the pattern to put the seams in the right place unless you have a 42.5" bust.

I will let you know if I find any other crazy measurements.
